I
chose photography as a medium for personal expression because
it offers both the precision of science and the vision of poetry.
My
photographs are the observations of an intensely experienced life.
The images are of a meditative nature, designed to share with
the viewer a moment of history or a fragment of emotion.
The
subjects are several: (1) abstracts: details of landscape and
architecture; (2) simulacra: found objects with figural elements;
and (3) intimate family portraits: documentation of pregnancy,
of mother-child bonding.
In
addition to this personal work, I am fascinated with images from
the past and make copy from old photographs.
In
a word, my photographs are about life, at that moment in which
the plain event may reveal profound feeling.
